I adore this quote by American artist, Helen Frankenthaler. It truly describes the visual experience of looking at abstract art, especially complex ones with lots of shapes and color (like mine). My goal is to give the viewer a rich, and whimsical path to fun and happiness. This piece was created while painting at a table overlooking the ocean in Depoe Bay, OR. I often say I can feel what is going on under the water, and having a front row seat definitely helped. This painting is called "Doubleback Twister," and comes from my love of all shapes biological. I also adore color and forms that float or connect in space. I was a biology minor in college, and I loved looking through the microscope. Looking at cells was like another world! This Makes Me Happy I live for moments like this: seeing a new building in Portland, OR with an exciting exterior. The building is called the Fair-Haired Dumbbell, and it is an office building with a mural by LA artist, James Jean. Every 10-15 years, the building owners are thinking about changing the mural. I love it for its playfulness and color.  bizjournal
