Fraternal Foliage (cinnabar)
In 2008 I went crazy for oval compositions. I made at least six. Using unconventional format shapes is nothing new, it simply surprised me that they weren't as well received (read: sales) as I thought they would be. Ovals are my Favorite Shape
I am going to go out on a limb and say that everyone has a favorite shape. Round, rectilinear, trapezoid. My favorite shape is an oval, like an egg, which reminds me of the idea life or potential. The question is why. This drawing is a riff on "Puff Paradise", which also incorporates ovals (and swirls). Let me know your favorite shape!
