Matthew Cosby - "Ring Pop" - Augen Gallery
Matthew Cosby's piece "Ring Pop" is the strongest piece from his latest show at Portland's Augen Gallery.
I like his use of vibrant color and shape: how each unit is a variation on hue, intensity and value, and how the black line separating each shape is reminiscent of a European cathedral's stained glass window. In addition, each work in the show carries an exactness and a level of craft which is unsurpassed.
