MOSS is nature's velvet, so when I see it clinging to any surface it can in a forest, I am taken to another world. It's soft, for the most part, and can make a great bed (or seat!) I adore the permeating green hue as well; this creates a beautiful aura if enough of it is around. So I am adding moss to my collection of what inspires me. (Other inspirations include egg shapes, flowers, coral, plankton and succulents.) Image sourse: jeff_cooper_unsplash
As a young child, I creatively adjusted myself so that nobody really knew what I liked. It was a way to stay under the radar, so as not to rock the boat in my family. I also didn't even really know how to play. Now I know how to express myself and play, but it's taken some time. My colorful work is a reflection of play and how play is also possible for you too. May this piece be a reminder that you're safe to play. This blue pen and ink drawing represents the feeling of the beginning of spring. It feels bouncy, exciting, fertile, possible and joyous. You can see plants sprout to life. In essence, you see life manifest its vitality through nature. Georges Seurat's drawings deft use of value to create the appearance of diffused light are sublime. Having recently read an article in Art in America by Patrick McCaughey, I am now re-enamored of his achromatic work! The small size is also appealing - generally 9" x 12". Image source: www.nj.com
