On Facebook, I asked individuals to send me a word to illustrate. One word came in, REIFY, which means to make something abstract, more concrete or real. So this is my REIFY illustration. Teardrop, paisley, Persian pickle, Welsh pear, boteh...all of these are names for the repeating shape I used within this painting. Add them up, and you get what I call an "egg". The name of the piece is "Swirl Egg (bg/ro/yg)" ("Bg" stands for blue-green, "ro" for red-orange and "yg" for yellow green). Green velvet couches are a great way to contrast red, as they are complementary colors (they enhance each other when they are near each other).
